A meaningless loss, in a meaningless game , in a meaningless tournament. Kinda glad the season is over. Thank you for a terrific season, it was a great ride! Time for our players to return to campus, go back to class , interact with their classmates and just be college kids.
What a season. High highs and low lows. I will really miss Caleb, he is going to be a fantastic player in Europe and an excellent coach when his time comes. I'm glad we gave Alexis a chance to play again, you can see he loved being on the team and on the court, wish him the best! I will certainly be following Jalen and Brycen next year. I hope they land in great spots, are big contributors, and make some good cash before their pro careers. Once a Stag, always a Stag!
Unfortunately the championship game will haunt my dreams for years.
Hit the portal Coach, we need to replace alot of minutes and points!

All this happy talk with Goodine and Leach wishing them the best etc etc is not warranted .. they betrayed the team and did not finish out the season as they should have . As in football now even mid majors in BB are losing players to NIL and the portal .. it’s a different world and it’s destroying college sports . A free education is now not enough and these guys are not going to be pro players in the NBA … they will play in Europe and it’s makes no difference where they play their last season of college eligibility .

The Stags were basically playing on fumes in the second half. The missing players and the fact they had to play three straight nights as opposed to Seattle which had one night off certainly were major factors in this loss. That said, the Red Hawks are good and most likely would have won even if the residual stuff was even. So with the end of the season now official, a reflection of what happened makes me realize how much fun this ride has been, especially considering the state of the program back in late October. So I would just like to thank all the players and coaches who through their hard work turned a negative into a big, big positive which hopefully becomes the start of a consistent winner in the years to come. Special thanks too to the seniors, especially Caleb, the iron-man who played all but a few seconds in this tournament, plus Alexis who worked extremely hard just to help the team as best he could in the stretch portion of the schedule. Those two are great leaders and will be missed greatly. And finally Chris Casey who did an amazing job under extenuating circumstances and whom I have faith will build on what happened over these past few months. Already I'm excited to see what he can do for an encore in 2024-25.
