This is not the first time that questions for the coach were submitted beforehand. I remember this to be a regular practice during o'tooles time as head coach.
I used to prepare list of Questions for the Doc’s Roundtable during TOT years and some of Cooley years and I sent them on to the coaches.
For this year’s Roundtable, we decided to do the same thing as it was a very effective way to get a lot of question asked and more importantly cover a lot of topics. I was asked to compile a list of questions from the Message Board, but with Pete Kirschner coming on board, he has decided to take on that responsibility of compiling all the questions. I take that as a Big positive…… that he is actively involved with trying to interact more with Fans. This is something that was not done before.
We also planned for people to be able to ask Follow-up/Additional questions in a Roundtable discussion, as was done in the past when had a list. The discussion is extremely important. I will re-check to see if that is still the case.
I confirmed that Follow-up and Additional questions will certainly be welcome at the Doc’s Roundtable Q & A. That means that the event will be run very similar to some of the Doc’s Roundtable’s in the past. The purpose of the initial list of questions is for Pete Kirschner to organize the list of questions into some logical order to be discussed. It also helps because many people are sometimes shy about asking questions. No conspiracy, No censorship, No hiding of information.
At any event I have been at, Sydney and his coaching staff has always be very honest and willing to answer questions. And Peter Kirschner really seems to have a good handle on things…… which is by communicating with Fans, and most important he seems to be a good listener.
The key thing is that we are hopefully getting back to having meetings that are more “Roundtable” discussions. This Concept was all setup by Doc Pleban and others, and he deserves a lot of the credit. Unfortunately, we got away from these Basketball Roundtables, and changed to Friends of Fairfield Basketball events, which had a focus on Fundraising and PR. While both are important, trying to mix the 2 together did not seem to work. The best example of this was the Kickoff Meeting in NYC this year when we honored Hoops Weiss. It was a tremendous event, elevated the branding of Fairfield University, and attracted a lot people, but did little for existing Fairfield Basketball fans.
TY joe stag for clarifying the intent of the program. I never believed the reason of requesting question before hand was some form of censorship as indicated by some of the conspiracy advocates on this board. I'll bet you those who are complaining the most, will also be the same folks who will not pay the $35 bucks and will not show up to hear the answers to the questions. Additionally, I also noticed in on some of the recent e-mails this event is properly called "doc's roundtable" in testament to recently passed Dr.Walter Pleban. Walt was a good guy,a passionate stag fan who will be missed by those stags fans who knew him.

74, excellent point about "Doc's Roundtable" being used in the e-mails. Maybe to some who never knew Doc this is not a big deal. However to those of us that did, and also the late Jim McCoach, to my knowledge the two who originated the idea of a discussion of Stag basketball around a table at a restaurant that no longer exists in Fairfield (I believe it was about where Joe's American Grill is right now), it is indeed very important that the name and the spirit somehow remain in these meetings. So kudos for the university with these e-mails, and I hope it will continue in the future.
73, for clarification, the Arena service lot means the area behind the indoor parking garage. Is that correct? (take first right after entrance to garage).

Yes, first right after Garage. Circle around the arena and park in back of the Outfield Fence for the Bluefish. Pete Rose will be in the parking lot to sign autographs Lets hope that the Bluefish do not hit a lot of Home runs that night. They play at 7:05pm
Parking should be between the WBA and the left-center field fence(see photo)
... and for all you crybabies that whine about paying $10 bucks to park, its free parking that night at the WBA.
I'm not one of those, but you sure do have a lot of pent-up disdain for those of us that disagree with your views. Between your comments about those of us who won't be spending the $35 for a chance to speak to a so-called coach and these comments, it's sad to see the handful of Stag supporters so divided. Chill out...

...the $10 parking is not an issue so much for the regulars, but it is NO WAY to attract new fans....
From the WBA website:
Parking Parking is available at surface lots and in the transit garage. Cost varies per show.
It has nothing to do with being cry babies but when the game day ticket is $9.00 and parking in a dirt lot is $10.00, it is an issue for getting people to the game and then coming back again. A question next week for GD is "Can anything be done to lower the parking fee for Stag Basketball?"
Parking is free, 365 days (eves) per year, on the street, under the I 95 overpasses, and in various lots Downtown, all within a short walk to the Arena. I have been taking advantage since the Arena opened. Sometimes, now hold onto yout seats, I even stop at one of the nearby bars and restaurants!
