Gueye, an interesting player. Played lots of minutes for UAB , so experienced. Appears to be a good Ft shooter at 76%. However, strangely his FG percentage is 46% which is low for a big man that can shoot almost 80% from FT line. Would he be eligible immediately NEC the year?

Never knew anything about him until this posting. However considering that he is 6'10" but weighs only 210 lbs. plus almost a third of his attempted shots were from behind the 3-point arc, I would think that indicates he is more of a finesse type big man rather than a down low type who will bang the glass. That probably explains your thought that he is an "interesting" player.
Tremendous athletic ability. Check out the 1 minute highlight film..... remind me of Ajou Deng. Impressive list of schools (Miami, Mississippi State, Georgetown, San Diego State, New Mexico, Boise State, JMU and Fairfield).

He got an offer from Virginia Tech recently. Not clear if he’s a grad transfer or would have to sit one year to play one year. All these schools are seeing something despite the low shooting percentage so we’d gladly take him. Fairfield is the only school on that list that can really guarantee him 30+ minutes a game.
I suspect he'd be successful for Fairfield - simply based on his athleticism - but highlight films can be deceiving.
Career 26% from 3P is bad... and last year he only shot 46% from 2P. Seems like something ain't right.
Agree that Stats don't match-up with the video. But there is no doubt the kid has Height/Length. Just think what Jay Young could do with the talent of Makhtar Gueye. If you are going to take a chance on someone..... he is the guy. He also played on a team in UAB that had 19 wins going into Post -season..... and he played in a very good league. I could see him averaging 8pts, 8Rebs, 4Blocks and a whole lot of intimidations in the MAAC.
