Here's an article on how BC might be an NCAA team in the upcoming season. I think in one of the podcasts, Young said we'll be playing at BC in the upcoming season.
The author has Fred Scott in BC's starting lineup and Rich Kelly as their probable 6th man.
Yeah I also believe Jay mentioned we probably will be playing them up there if I remember correctly. Subject to change I'm sure based on the uncertainty of everything at the moment however. But whether we play them or not this is interesting to read if for nothing else than to try to think a bit about some basketball rather than all the other unfortunate events going on at the present time.
Anyway while this analysis seems rather extensive I think it would fail to excite or convince me of the predicted bar being hurdled if I were a fan of the Eagles. BTW, who is this "expert" and what makes his knowledge gospel? A starter from Lehigh, Scott from Rider and Rich Kelly as the 6th man does not exactly set a foundation for a crew that has to compete against some of the best teams in the country, does it? TBD of course, but if I was a betting man I would say Boston College will NOT make the NCAA tournament this coming season.
One final comment after reading this. It is interesting that when we defeated the Eagles at Mohegan Sun during the 2016-17 season we beat a team that had two players currently playing in the NBA in Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman. They both had great games against us (no one else did), but anyway even though it was only one win on one night it's fun to think back fondly about a great night for Stag fans. Was on national TV if I remember correctly (CBS Sports).
Scott and Kelly are very good players, but neither of their teams, Rider or Quinnipiac, achieved the expected team results over their carears.... and that was in the MAAC. I expect if BC is counting on them, then they will not be NCAA Bound.

An interesting fact that when we beat BC that season, they had two players who are playing in the NBA. I was wondering -- has Fairfield ever beaten any other team that had two or more players make the NBA? I can't think of any but was wondering if anyone knew of one that I was unaware of?

We beat LaSalle two-out-of-three during the 86-87 season. Lionel Simmons was a frosh and Tim Legler a junior. That LaSalle team lost in the championship game of the NIT.

The 1986-87 La Salle team had Lionel Simmons (freshman) and Tim Legler (junior). Doug Overton joined them the following season.
Fairfield beat La Salle twice that year, 63-60, at Alumni Hall and 75-62 in the quarterfinals of the MAAC tournament at Brendan Byrne Arena. Fairfield, of course, went on to win the championship. This was L-Train's only MAAC tournament loss.
Wow, that's interesting. Maybe the relative locations between where Wake Forest and William and Mary (Winston Salem, NC and Williamsburg, Va.) are located can make this a one swing road trip rather than something that will require two separate trips. A way to save a little money in this period of time when it makes sense to cut down on expenses. But of course at this time we don't even know if there will be games in the fall, so let's keep our fingers crossed! Anyway if the game against WF does indeed happen, that will make our schedule look pretty respectable considering we will be competing against two ACC teams this season (BC the other), albeit against two programs who have basically been bottom feeders in the league for years. One more interesting thing about this contest will be that this game will be played on the same floor where the Stags 'almost' made history at that well remembered 1997 NCAA Tournament contest against North Carolina where they led the soon to be retiring Dean Smith and his Tar Heels by 7 points at halftime. Maybe that memory can provide a little inspiration when they hit the floor that night. Sort of said in jest of course, but in any event it will be fun to see our team play there again.

Home: vs. Holy Cross vs. Wagner vs. Loyola Maryland
Road: @ Boston College @ UMass @ William & Mary @ Sacred Heart @ Wake Forest @ buy game vs. high-major/P5 school
Jennings, even though WF hasn't been good lately, maybe this contest will count as the "buy" game considering that school is a representative from the ACC. I don't know for sure, but if that were true I think the Stags would have one more "regular" type game to schedule based on the fact that it looks like they will be playing 29 this coming year.
So far 9 OOC games for 2020-21. Last season, Jay Young's Stags played 11 OOC games and 20 MAAC Regular Season games.
73, two things here. First, I only count 8 actually scheduled 'announced' OCC games on the list above. No. 9 is still open if I read this correctly. And BTW although SHU has been rumored for quite awhile, I don't think I have seen anything official regarding that contest yet, although I think it will happen. As far as the number of games on the slate, I think 29 will be it this season. I think you have to participate in an in-season tournament to get more games, and it's my understanding that will not be the case with the Stags this year.

Nash,
I'm basing the list on a Jay Young podcast. He said the contract with BC had been reworked and we were traveling to Boston. He mentioned the Holy Cross, Wagner and Loyola home games and W&M road contest. I thought he said Fairfield was also looking for two buy games versus high-major competition. Wake Forest is one of the two. We'll see what happens with that final game.
UMass is officially scheduled for Nov. 25. Sacred Heart is just a rumor at this point, but if Fairfield is truly willing to play at the Pitt Center, I'm sure it will happen. One caveat: People on the Bucknell board seem to think that Fairfield signed a four-year deal in 2018 and that we'll be returning to Lewisburg this season.
