It’s all even again. We’re light on available arms and Rider has to be demoralized with that loss. Dig deep boys and grind out the next game for the Championship!

Bottom of 2nd , score 2-0 bases loaded and Stags bullpen is not getting it done! Achilles Heel all season!

Jennings, You were right on! The first game vs Rider in the tournament was the defacto championship game. Rider won that game and as you noted would most likely win the championship. The stags pitching never a strong point imploded in the third game against Rider . The stags may have finished as the regular season champs but Rider is a solid team with good pitching. Congrats to Bill Currier and his team for having a very good regular season and going to the MAAC finals. Congrats to future HOF Charlie Pagliarini and his teamates for giving stag fans just a terrific season. Stags up!

We all sensed this was where it was going. But totally enjoyed watching this team all spring. Game 1 on Saturday gave us a last taste of the fun we've had all season.
The bats entertained us and the massive rallies got us some big season wins. Unfortunately, this is baseball. The best hitting teams will most likely fall without pitching depth, which puts additional pressure on your starters.
Whomever has the pitching and hot bats at playoff time wins. You need both. That's baseball.
Congrats to a record setting offensive team. Every guy in the starting lineup had a highlight reel. The defense was also terrific for most of the season.
Hoping to see Charlie in "The Show" one day. One thing is for sure. Coach Currier will back fill players, find additional reliable pitching and we will again be fun to watch and at the top of the league next year.
It's bittersweet, but Go Stags!
NOW, can we finally get the distances posted on the outfield fence?

Congratulations to Stag Baseball for a record setting season and Go Stags: The Stags end their season with 37 wins, the second most in program history. Fairfield had 34 regular season victories, setting a program record. Fairfield enjoyed their best offensive season in program history, besting eight single season records including: average (.322), runs scored (518), hits (634), RBI (471), slugging percentage (.543), doubles (116), home runs (97), and walks (309). Fairfield ranked in the top-10 in the nation in runs, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. The 97 long balls were the most by any MAAC team in history while the 634 hits ranked third all-time. Charlie Pagliarini was at the forefront of the Stags' historical offensive performance as he enjoyed the best offense season in program history with a .400 batting average, and school records with 24 homers, 97 RBI, 49 walks, and 177 total bases. The 97 RBI ranked second in the country and was the most by any player in MAAC history. The Stags advanced to the MAAC Championship Series for the third time in the last four years after becoming the first MAAC program to win three-straight MAAC Regular Season Championships outright. They also won 30 games for the fourth-straight year.Stag BaseballMAAC Regular Season Champions (6): 1983, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023 MAAC Tournament Champions (1): 2016 NCAA Tournament Appearances (2): 2016, 2021(At-large bid)

“The Stags advanced to the MAAC Championship Series for the third time in the last four years after becoming the first MAAC program to win three-straight” Can’t seem to finish it out in the MAAC postseason. Currier has this monkey on his back!

Coach Currier is an excellent coach!Year after year, new and "old" players, his teams produce. I'd rather talk about a monkey than a jackass. Hold on the this man like grim death!

Shame we didn't have a deeper bullpen to go along with the historic offensive power we had this year.

Late to the party in commenting (been away from a computer for awhile), but I want to second some of the thoughts as expressed by others regarding this excellent season by the Stag baseball team even if the final result wasn't what we all hoped it would be. However as is clear, Rider is a deserving champ and should be accepted as such I think. Hopefully they represent the MAAC well in the NCAA Tournament this week.
But speaking of the MAAC, although in general they gave us a first-class tournament at a great venue (although the infield bad bounces around the shortstop area on Saturday were not so great as Noah Lucier might attest to), one thing that was totally mishandled on that day was the concession screw-up between games. For in a brilliant bit of strategy that was not so well thought out, when the first contest ended and it was known there would be a second one after that with a 45 minute break between games, guess what, they were CLOSED when everyone was hungry even after they had been open earlier. A quick 5 minute trip to a commercial area solved the problem for a few of us, but still, this was not the best way to present the total package. And to finish the story and in a case of trying to fix things in a fashion similar to "closing the door after the horses have been let out of the barn," a couple innings after the second game was underway brought an announcement that the concession stands were now OPEN. You can't make this up! Anyway I hope this situation is fixed NEXT YEAR if the same situation occurs again.

The food when they are open is HORRIBLE and not deserving of the prices they are charging. As the food is prepared off site, nothing is fresh. The burgers are thin dried out shoe leather, dogs are paltry and condiments are horrible (squeezing packets with no kraut for your dog is no fun). ice cold fries and chicken tenders. And to your point, the guys behind the counter have no. control over it and basically don't give a crap. I wish I had a contact for someone at the MAAC to voice my opinion as it appears we will be at this venue for a few more years. And quite frankly, the field itself is no bargain. Grass worn out in spots and the composition of the dirt infield is basically a sandbox when not immediately watered. Yes it's a big nice looking stadium, but needs field work and put a couple of food trucks outside while you dump the ridiculous concession stand.
