Monday tweet from Jon Rothstein regarding QU's Drame's game against Vermont: Jon Rothstein‏@jonrothstein·8 mins8 minutes ago Gaudy numbers for Quinnipiac's Ousmane Drame on Sunday vs. Vermont. 33, 11 boards and 3 blocks. One of the nation's best mid-major big men.
Rider beats CCSU, who are now 0-7. THat win doesnt look so nice now.
And South Dakota won the other night and now have 3 wins in row..... makes that win look better.
Duke beat #2 Wisconsin Northeastern lost to Harvard Sam Houston lost to Texas A&M on a last second shot And St Peters lost to Canisius on a last second shot by Lewis. St Peters goes 0-2 in the MAAC while Canisius and Niagara are at 1-0.

St. Peter's has had rotten luck this year. Four of their losses have been by a total of six points, and that includes the two MAAC losses. And Desi Washington has only played one game. How different their record probably would be if he had been in the lineup. Just goes to show you that sometimes luck is on your side (like in those 3 miracle shots against us last year) and sometimes not.
Which means at this point in the MAAC standings ----Canisius, Fairfield and Monmouth are tied for first with 2-0 records, and Rider is at 1-0 with their 2nd league game coming this Wednesday at Iona.
A 12/8 tweet from MAAC sports: MBB: Of the 4 unbeaten teams, none were picked higher than 6 in the preseason poll. Monmouth (6), Rider (7), Fairfield (9), Canisius (10)
Dont sleep on Monmouth, they are playing good basketball. Iona is AJ English, Casimir, and Laury and then a roster of ?s. That three headed monster though is quite good, scored 73 of their 89 pts. Still their league to lose.
Bucknell beat Albany last night 61-58. Both teams are mid-pack MAAC and similar to Manahttan and QU. The Albany game, like a lot of games on our schedule at 50-50. But Our next game is against Belmont, which I would consider like a Wofford/Iona/Sam Houston level.
Also, Florida beat Yale by 38..... Yale was still Hungover . Brown Beat Providence by 10. Sacred Heart loses to Lafayette by 1. SHU beat Holy Cross the other night, so they did pretty well against 2 of the top teams from the Patriot. SHU to the Patriot
Belmont (7-2) lost to a good Evansville (7-1) team by 3 points. I don't think Belmont's best player played (Bradshaw). Belmont is highly skilled.... very good Ballhandling, Passing and Shooting. We will have to play with a lot of Defensive "Anticipation". Fairfield Steals could be the stat to watch.
