Apparently, we weren't the only MAAC team to mail in an effort in the last OOC game before Christmas.
In addition to mailing in those games, my 2nd favorite team, Temple, beat Kansas by 25, and they were up 30 at one time. Upsets and weird games do happen between the end of Finals and Christmas. Many big schools play a Division II/III team, or a lower level team during this time, just for that reason. But I would have expected more of a Stag let down vs Belmont and that did not happen. For Albany, we did not respond to the physical nature of the game, especially inside and rebounding underneath ...... that had nothing to do with the layoff.

Always nice to watch a team with one of our former assistant coaches do well, especially if said assistant was a good guy, and definitely a team and coach that fits this mold so far is the George Washington Colonials and Carmen Maciarello, a highly valued up and comer in the business who moved from Boston University to GW this past summer to work with HC Mike Lonergan. And late last night in Hawaii this team won a close and hard fought game against the #11 team in the country in Wichita St., a huge win on the national landscape that surely will make the nation take notice, especially since their overall record is very good. Carmen WILL be a HC someday, so being associated with a big winner certainly doesn't hurt. Keep an eye on this team throughout the rest of the year!
