Be careful when you compare this player to Foster. Hank was a Big East caliber talent. Not on the same level! Hank was a bright guy who came from an academic oriented family. Both his parents were in education and one of them was a principal. I heard Hank interviewed and was impressed. His problem was that he was immature and after a few campus incidents, he was told to leave. I believe that he finished at Fordham.
I think people are comparing Damien Sears to Hank Foster because of "Style of Play" not saying he is a good as Hank Foster. IMO, we definitely can use a Hank Foster style of player at PF. It's a different than a Milin. Some of our other current recruits have the following Comparisons in "Style"
Damien Sears => Hank Foster Zac Saddler => Larry Bird (credit to Bridgeport) Sukjhot Bains => Marcus Gilbert Rob Montgomery => Mo Barrow
Larry Bird! Well in that case I definitely want Saddler!
Well he has visited. Worked out with the team actually. Does it mean he is no longer in the picture to be a Stag? Can't say one way or the other.
Is this about us showing a lot of "Patience". I think Bains is very good, but he might not be big enough to be a PF for us. He is a 3/4 tweener right now.
From May 1st on Twitter. Looks like Damien Sears will be visiting this weekend…. May 6-8. Need him to sign before he leaves.

Damien Sears could blow-up in July? If he is the answer, we need to sign him on Sunday/Monday
Movement Academy @movementbb 13h @teamaaobb 6'7 Forward Damien Sears! This kid had a great April. Could blow up in July! #TEAMAAO @_Nick5000 youtu.be/yIa1Tzpvykc View details ·
Two things: He's not 6'7, unless everyone else in the video is 6'5. And that's some seriously weak competition.
Maybe you're right on both counts. Other films do show better comp however. And height, again if the kid can REALLY play, whether he's 6-5, 6-6, 6-7, shouldn't make too much difference, especially at our level. Other than that I am not suggesting how good he is. But I don't think he would be a priority if he wouldn't be a real help.
Good size on Sears. Seems to be 6-6, but some sites have him listed at 6-7. Looks to have long arms and big hands.
I would think that Sears is more like 6-6 (same as Hank Foster), but the top of the head measurement is not as important as a players length. His arms do look long. The video shows he can dunk with ease and has good elevation jumping off 2 feet. He also has a quick jump, something a player like Darren Phillip took pride in. The photo also shows that he can easily palm the ball.
I agree that the tapes do not show that he is playing against great competition, but that is why he is coming up on an official visit.
All of his videos show the common denominator of good athleticism, length and physicality. Those traits translate very well for him on the defense end. Need that sort of athletic physicality on our frontline. With his strength, length and athleticism, it looks like he can play at the three or four and effectively guard other teams 3's or 4's. Seems to be very good defensively, with excellent defensive instincts and anticipating and playing the passing lanes very well. I did see some other videos which show a nice pull-up jumper with good elevation, and the ability to create his own shot on the perimeter . Looks to be a good fit for our team and we have plenty of immediate playing time available for him at the 3 or 4. This may work out very well for the team and him.
How good is Damien Sears? Don't know. He certainly seems much better that Coleman Johnson, and he might be a Yorel Hawkins type player. Yorel had a wider variety of skills, but Sears seems more physical above the rim. And from the sounds of the last tweet, he seems to be blooming right now.
