Looks like Daleba, Peek, Tirado and Rubino are now in the portal. So here is what it looks like:
Returners Brown, Anderson, Lamoreaux, Selimovic, Mcgruder, Fischer, Beach, Leite, Prior (preferred walk on 23-24, let's assume she gets Peeks scholarship), Tatarian (not sure what her status is, never seen her anywhere near a game, but not in portal so have to assume she will take a scholarship. Freshman Karpel John
That would be 12 scholarships and I believe would leave 3 for transfers via the portal. If Prior and Tatarian don't have scholarships, that would be 5. It would be nice to see Prior get one, she can flat out shoot and if she works in the offseason on strength and defense, could get some playing time. Did I miss someone?

I think that's accurate for what we know.
Another freshman signing isn't out of the question.

After next year will be a large amount of players exiting, Brown, Selimovic, McGruder, Leite & Beach. Brown will be a big one, Selimovic as well. Mcgruder has to get better on defense to really be a help. Leite may need to be a scoring threat of some sort to help. That doesn't include any portal transfers we get that may only have a year left as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Stags do any recruiting in Europe. I think CTD has mentioned Fairfield's relative proximity as useful to that end.
I'm also curious if there might be some portal options from just up the road in Storrs.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_nay64lFck NY area player who just entered the portal. Played HS with Andersen before taking a year at Saddle River Day. Has 2 years remaining. If there was ever a time to get a big time transfer, now is the time. Nationally ranked program that with a few tweaks get to the Top 25 next season and stay there. Get Paris and a big and run the table, again.

It seems like a person from the A10 up, that is looking to join a winning program that can win their conference each year might make the most sense. MEvius left Siena for Oregon, sounds like a $ move.

Will be interesting, the NIL part is the big unknown, how much money can a UConn, UNC, P5 player get at those schools versus Fairfield. Does FF players get much, or any NIL money now? Can we get them more to help attract players?

Sure u can get the players more NIL money. Reach into your pocket and put up $50K opportunity for players as starter NIL money if u think that is the right thing to do. Not me because a scholarship worth $75k, the opportunity to pull on a jersey and compete for your school and your classmates should be enough. Unfortunately in this new world of collegiate sports it is not enough.

The one game at FF had donuts I think from a local company the girls team was sponsored by via NIL I think. It would be nice if the athletics program had someone dedicated to helping players find NIL deals to attract them and keep them. I am glad to see our top 7-8 players returning. Was a bit shocked that Rubino did not return.

"Mcgruder has to get better on defense to really be a help." Really, you don't think she was a big help this year?
"Was a bit shocked that Rubino did not return" My thoughts also; she had told me several times in the fall that she was never leaving. "I am a lifer". Probably figured there would not be much playing time.

I just felt like she didn't put 100% effort on the defensive side every game, would be beat quickly on dribble attacks by the other team which forced the rest of our team to have to help and leave a good shooter, or a big too often. She was a great asset when she was hitting 3's, spreading the court for us. In a man defense, you can't have that issue where one person, or two, are causing breakdowns against good teams. You can get away with it against weaker teams.

I didn't recall her having issues in the first half of the season.

Was a bit shocked that Rubino did not return. Others would know more than I, but my sense is that NIL isn't (yet) as omnipresent in NCAAW as with the men. I know there are some players with significant NIL deals, but I think those are largely based on their own celebrity and accomplishments vs. university-oriented NIL collectives acting as banks to throw around 6-figure numbers, luring players from one school to the next. I'm not saying there isn't any of that... just that I believe it's still to a smaller scale and less pervasive of a factor. To that end... I think that's good for Fairfield. It allows all of the good elements of Fairfield's program to stand out more. When I mentioned Storrs... please don't think I was suggesting Bueckers or Edwards were going to suddenly enter the portal and come to Fairfield! However, there are some rotational players... good players who have been there for a few years... players who might have seen themselves recruited over or aren't looking at a likely increase in their roles... and could consider a move to a top mid-major vs. bouncing to another P5. And you could imagine this scenario at any number of other P5 schools. For those players... with all that has happened in the past few years... I think Fairfield is now likely to be on the radar.

Don't disagree, but still not convinced someone would drop from P5 to a mid level conference, I truly hope so! the portal is open, not sure how long the process takes to vet out who is interested in FF and when they would committ.
