I would be shocked if Jones announces for Fairfield. I just don’t see how FF can recruit any quality players with the turmoil going on with the coaching staff because of the Costa Rica incident. A real mess that will impact FF mens hoop for some time.
I agree.
Some of it is guaranteed... but I wouldn't be surprised if the Stags have something like 10 new scholarship guys next season... maybe more!
Not making the switch after last season (for results) has turned out to be a debacle of considerable magnitude.
Another class of ‘24 PG that we had offered has committed elsewhere. Josh Reed had ten other offers besides us and he committed to Drexel. I agree with those who state our prep recruiting will be virtually non-existent with the fallout from the resignations from the coaching staff and Coach Casey carrying the interim tag. If I remember correctly, the one player who has committed to us said it was coach Johns that he felt most connected to on our team so I’m expecting Tristen Guillouette to decommit in the near future.
I sincerely hope Tristin stays committed to Fairfield. As he said to his mom Fairfield was exactly what I thought a college should be. Follow your gut and heart Tristin. You will be a STAR at Fairfield and get one heck of an education

Go to page 17 of this thread and you’ll see a tweet from Joe Budzelak predicting Deuce would commit to LaSalle. He said if there’s one thing he’s fairly certain of in recruiting it’s that if a player says he’s going to announce on a certain day and a new school makes him a new offer a few days before that —- the recruit will commit to the school that makes the offer right before his scheduled announcement day.

Unfortunately that’s not going to be the case
If this in fact reality, this is only the beginning of the negative impact to recruiting that FF will experience as a result of the JY era.

In the short term... I don't think the Stags will be successful with early signings - but that seems less and less important nowadays. The right new coach and any negative impact could be washed away quickly.

Yeah that probably makes sense considering these modern times where roster turnover is happening at a record pace at many schools each year. If what is being inferred here in a previous post above, IE the one recruit who had given us a verbal is backing out of his commitment (obviously because of recent events), well that doesn't surprise me at all. Quite frankly I would have been surprised if he had signed the NLI this week to be honest. Can't blame the kid at all BTW. I hope Tristen (if this news is indeed true) finds nothing but success and happiness wherever he winds up. But whether it is Casey because of success this season or whether it is someone else who is hired, then recruiting picks up again in early spring with kind of a clean slate. History has shown that some program indiscretions don't necessarily mean years of failure in the following years. Get the right person in charge and success can follow shortly as Ed Cooley showed.

Whoever coaches the Stags next season, he has to not only know how to coach, but know how to recruit and keep talented kids from transferring on a whim. The big personalities like Ed are very hard to find. We are lucky we offered him his first D1 head coach job.
With every tiny school aiming to go D1, I can see how the NCAA are creating rules that put the spotlight on the power conferences and making post season difficult for the lower ones. I hope it doesn’t eventually divide into premier vs. non-premier final tournaments, but it sure looks that way.
I hope you guys are right about how quickly recruiting will recover. However, I am sure every other coach will use the incident as a negative against FF, telling a recruit about the instability in the coaching staff.

As several people observed on Monday night while watching the pasting BC handed out, you cannot rely on recruiting prep kids this year. The new coach will have to hit the portal with Deion Sanders intensity to begin the rebuilding process. Work will be cut out but it can (and should) be done.
