AJR and Supreme Cook both scored in double figures tonight although both CCSU and Georgetown lost. Supreme had 10 points, hitting 5 of 8 from the field, in Georgetown’s 10 point loss at Butler. AJR had 21 points, 9 of 14 from the field & 3 FTs, in CCSU’s 5 point loss at home to Northeastern..
TJ Long scored 19 points in Vermont’s 86-60 road win at Toledo. He was only 1 for 4 from beyond the arc but 8 for 13 overall on his field goal attempts.
Makai Willis is getting about 15 mpg at Louisiana Monroe. Two big games, both against non-D1 opponents (remember his game against Medgar Evers?) but not producing much against D1 opponents.
AJR with 15 points on 6 of 7 from the field, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc in CCSU’s win over a non-D1 team today. AJR is now 8 of 20 on his 3s this season (40%).
^Anyone have any knowledge of why this “former West Morris star” couldn’t make it at the D1 or Adelphi level. Was it an unwillingness to do the ball handling improvement drills or a low basketball IQ, some combination of those or something else entirely.
From the VERY limited minutes we saw at Fairfield and I'm thinking mostly of the D3 game... I thought he was oddly tentative. But that was just a glimpse. It could be anything. Do remember having hopes he could be the floor general. I think he had some outstanding assist numbers in NJ.

I watched the Hoyas game and it’s the same old Cook: an awkward but successful play one minute and a stupid turnover the next by losing the handle, or missing a layup being fouled and missing the foul shots. What we miss by his absence is mainly the rebounding. We have plenty of answers on offense. The silver lining in everything that happened is our energized offense and the Smith, Seck, Yetna trio (granted with the major ? on Yetna), which should pay dividends down the road.

Great to see AJ having a great season at Central Connecticut. And what makes it even better is the beneficiary of his production in former Fairfield assistant Patrick Sellers who in his first career D-1 job as a head coach is slowly but surely getting it done as far as returning the Blue Devils into a position of excellence which the program experienced a couple of decades ago. And also from a Stag perspective you would have to add Ryan Olander too who is an assistant there. Each of those guys were quality people when they were here. Therefore I am happy they are as a collective unit doing very well this year.
