AJR voted first team all-NEC. Sellers is NEC Coach of the Year. A bit surprised no one from Sacred Heart made the NEC first team as they finished 3rd in the league standings behind CCSU and Merrimack.

Congrats to both AJ and Patrick for a job well-done in their new home. Also Ryan Olander as an assistant too. I'll be rooting for them in the NEC tournament which BTW starts tomorrow night.
Makai Willis’ season ended last night as 12 seed ULM lost to 13 seed Coastal Carolina 75-71 in the opening round of the Sun Belt conference tournament. Willis came off the bench and scored 5 points in 10 minutes of action.
CCSU loses at home to Wagner 66-56 in the NEC semifinals. AJR with 10 points, he shot 3 of 9 from the field in the game.
I finally watched the replay of the CCSU-Wagner game from the other day. AJR crossed the 1,000-point scoring mark in the second half. He finishes his career with 1,002 points, 462 in one year at Central and 540 in four years at Fairfield.

Rough ending for Stony Brook. They held Charleston scoreless over the final 4:54. Came back to tie the game. Had multiple chances to take the lead in regulation - but couldn't. Lost in OT by 3.
Of those who left the stags via the portal last year only Cook and Long remain standing. G-town ( Cooley/Cook) vs Providence in first round of BIG East tournament a game with an interesting story line.
Season ended for Cook (and Cooley). Only the existence of Depaul prevented them from a 21-game losing streak.
On paper it looks like he had an OK season. He certainly added some muscle - but from what I saw he didn't add a lot to his game. GTown fans liked his intensity. They were mixed on the end product. Kind of a "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man(forward) is king" situation. Consensus seems to be that Cooley will be looking to upgrade the position (along with just about every other roster spot). I think it's going to be tough for him to keep his minutes - unless he can bring more to the table defensively and hit some FTs.
I'm rooting for him, but it's now or never in 2024-25.
